While the GMT-Master Ref. 16750 is a fairly common watch, this example is rare. A true transitional timepiece, this piece was created in 1979, the first batch of 16750 which features a matte dial, similar to the ones that were on the previous Ref. 1675 and with the same 1675 insert (Fat font with red back), matte dial 16750's were only made for a short period in the early 80's, before Rolex swapped the dial to the more modern, glossy dial variant with white gold hour marker surrounds. You will not find many examples available in the market.

CONDITION
This Rolex Ref. 16750 is in good overall condition. The case is likely to be unpolished and retains thick, even lugs. There are minor scratches throughout, visible in the photographs that are consistent with a watch of this age. The bezel is an original, red back with fat fonts (same 1675 insert) and has faded to a very nice colour, especially the bottom red already turning into purple.
The Cal. 3075 movement is fully functional with the hacking and quickset date in working order. The dial and hands have developed a very dark patina, with the hands same lume on the dial, which makes this piece really stand-out.
